in my art methods class about appropriate attire for teachers
and i am wondering...
As a parent what would you think if one your child's teacher's
had a large tattoo on their forearm?
Something sort of like this:
(not this actual tattoo, but a large tattoo with bright coloring)
How would feel?
I am curious as to what parents would think
-especially since i live in Utah.

Well, I think the cupcake tattoo is incredibly ugly. As for tattoos on teachers in general though...I don't think I'd have a problem with it. There might be a negative connotation around here, but I think it's similar to something like my nose piercing, for example. Maybe some parents would think I shouldn't teach their children b/c my nose is pierced, but obviously I know that having a nose piercing in no way affects my ability to be a good teacher. But...this is Utah...so people might feel differently.
Man, that was so long and rambly of me.
haha. i liked it. I don't think that having a tattoo makes anyone "bad" or changes their abilities in any way. It's just one of those things that can raise an eyebrow in Happy Valley, Utah. I can see it as being a topic of discussion among students and parents. I just wonder how people-especially in this area-feel about it.
I personally would like the teacher more on a first impression. but anyone can be a loser... so i don't think it matters at all. People just need to calm the hell down here. Your child might even learn how to except all kinds of people if they see examples of people who don't fit into the cookie cutter type around here.
I should get a tatoo like that. . .on my behind, so every time I look at it, I'm reminded not to eat sweets, 'cuz that's where they go
